The
Effectiveness of Ganoderma
Ganoderma healing improves the body's vitality which helps the body adapt to
the environment. It adjusts the physiological balance, improves the
resistance to diseases and strengthens the self-healing ability. Unlike the
Western medicines, Western medicines directly kill bacteria, viruses, and
eliminate the diseased cells. However, Ganoderma healing is comparably
slower. It generally takes three days to see the improvements after
consuming Ganoderma. It might also take eight to ten days or even a month
for some other patients.
Ganoderma healing is comparatively stable and effective on improving the
body system. In treatment of one disease, it might also increase the
rehabilitation of other diseases as well at the same time if there are any.
(A) the efficacy to tumors:
Ganoderma improves and enhances the body's immune system. It improves the
patients’ immune cells to the destruction of the tumor cells, and muffles
the tumor's ability by forming a solid and thick fiber layer around it. The
layer then blocks the tumor from the sources of nutrition. This will
therefore delay or inhibit the growth of tumors. However, a small number of
tumors are usually cured.
Most cancer patients will see significant improvements after taking
Ganoderma lucidum and Ganoderma spores. Ganoderma lucidum generally
increases appetite and improves insomnia. Once the tumor growth is
inhibited, immune functions would be easily restored. Therefore, mental
strength and quality of surivival can be increased and hence, life would be
prolonged.
Combined with chemotherapy, radiation therapy, Ganoderma lucidum can
significantly reduce the side effects from these therapies. It helps
prevent the body and the immune function from being damaged by these
therapies. Patients can then be supported to the last treatment of
chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Thus, Ganoderma lucidum enhances the effect
of radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
How effective is Ganoderma lucidum?

Recent
Chinese and Western medicine researches show that Ganoderma has multiple
healing functions, with strengthening the body's immune system and
anti-cancer efficacy significantly in particular. Is this based on any
scientific research? As there are currently numerous Ganoderma products
available in the market, it might be difficult to identify the authenticity
of these products. How do we identify the authentic products?
Recent
scientific research shows that the Ganoderma spores (seeds) have a certain
effect on the inhibition of cancer. In fact, after years of Chinese and
Western medical research, it has been found that Ganoderma contains large
amounts of polysaccharides which enhance the body's immunity. In
particular, it helps reduce the side effects caused by cancer treatments
such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Dr. Liang Xi Yun, the current Master
of the Institute of Medicine Quality Research Laboratory at Hong Kong
Baptist University who specializes in Ganoderma research, confirmed that
Ganoderma lucidum is a type of fungi. Moreover, this fungus is high in
metabolism as each cell has its own function. As Ganoderma lucidum consists
of approximately 150 kinds of chemicals, lab experiments also show that
these chemicals have bioactivity, which results in medicinal effect.
Amongst all
the ingredients in Ganoderma lucidum, the polysaccharides have the most
significant effect. Polysaccharides are proven to strengthen the human
body's immune system, which protects the body from pathogens and other
foreign substances including bacteria, virus, and all types of carcinogens.
As such, Ganoderma can cure a variety of diseases, especially cancers.
Dr. Liang
states that according to many clinical reports, Ganoderma can reduce the
side effects of chemotherapy and electrotherapy such as hair loss, fatigue,
vomiting, diarrhea, altered taste, oral mucosal inflammation, and etc.
How do we
choose Ganoderma?
Lucidenic is
the most common kind of Ganoderma which one can often find in the market.
When choosing Ganoderma, it is best to pick one that is normal size as the
bigger ones are often aged and lignified, which reduces the efficacy of
Ganoderma. In terms of coloration, shades of brown indicate good quality.
Dr. Liang pointed out, by comparing the wild Ganoderma and the cultivated
ones, the cultivated ones are more round and even in shape. Although some
say that the wild ones have higher efficacy, this has not been
scientifically confirmed.
The differences between Ganoderma and Yunzhi (Coriolus Versicolor):
In addition
to Ganoderma, Coriolus Versicolor has also become very popular in cancer
therapy in recent years. What are the differences between them? Is one
more effective than the other? Dr. Liang explained that Ganoderma lucidum
and Coriolus Versicolor are both considered as fungi, but they are under a
different subcategory of fungus. The main difference between the two is
their appearance. Coriolus Versicolor has a shape of an umbrella but
without the handle whereas Ganoderma has a shape of an umbrella with a
handle.
Ganoderma and
Coriolus Versicolor are also different in terms of efficacies:
•
Coriolus Versicolor consists of polysaccharides which mainly helps to
prevent from cancer;
•
Ganoderma lucidum has broader functions. It can cure a variety of
diseases while also improves and enhances the immune system
However, Dr.
Liang strongly suggests, in order to prevent any deception, please buy ones
with brand names and from reputable shops, no matter what kind of Ganoderma
is chosen.
